Spaniel/poodle? This guy is just tooooo cute. I had to show my husband. I am thinking about either a Aussiedoodle or a Sheepadoodle for my next doodle, but this is the first time I have seen a Sproodle. What a darling dog!
HAHAHAHA! Umm yes... we still have this problem when Wheels gets really excited to see us. He's so excited he has to bite something. I've trained him to get a toy to bite instead of me. I got little baskets of toys that we keep on the floor that he can get himself. I started by giving him a toy to bite and then eventually just went to telling him "No bite, get your toy" he is just now getting to the point that he will get a toy on his own before I ask him to. It does get better... That first month was INSANE biting. He also responded well to a little high-pitched squeal when it hurts. That simulates the noise they make when another dog bites them too hard.
Yes! My friend Leti told me that they ran into you, she was very excited! Wheels drove us bonkers at that age, we thought we got the strong-willed alpha puppy. He would have these crazy fits every night where he'd run circles around the house and wouldn't listen to us. Luckily, he just needed A LOT more exercise than he was getting. The best thing that happened was meeting a group of neighbors that also had puppies. We started getting together with them every morning for play dates and Wheels got to burn off tons of energy running circles around them. Rainy days like this are the worst because it's hard to get him to work off enough energy. It also was great for his socialization and now he is calm now when meeting dogs of all sizes (until they start playing with him and then he starts to run around like crazy and play chase). Our vet said we could start running with him at 9 months so we've been giving him double duty exercise in the morning with a 3-4 mile run and a play date. That seems to be the ticket for getting him to settle down! Stay in touch and we'll get together when this weather clears.
YAY! Another Charlottesville Sproodle owner!!! Our guy, Wheels, is 10 1/2 months. He's hilarious and lives up to his name with all his speedy running about. He's from the Sugar and Simon litter last July. How old is Roux? We'll have to schedule a play date this summer. Wheels loves to make new friends!
