About Me:
We live in northeast Ohio.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Max is loved by lots of family and friends. We have 3 grown children and 9 grandchildren who are over often. The neighbors and their children know him very well too. Max loves us all as well as each of the family's dogs. Max is almost 7 months old (1-23-12) soft, curly red w/ white markings. He's adorable and he loves me the most!!!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We had an Airedale years ago that we loved very much. Then we bought a welsh terrier b/c it was a miniture airedale...thought we didn't want a big dog for reasons of getting older and taking care of. like i said we loved our airedale but had to take care of him the last couple years. Well, welsh terriers are tough little guys lets say. Then the next time I was assured that temperment wasn't "welsh terrior" like so I tried it again with another welsh terrier. he was tougher than the 1st one. I loved him but he was tough.
after that and loving the airedale ish dog I heard about goldendoodles and decided to give it a try much to my husbands dismay. He was done.
So I bought my Lucy Lu. She was a handful but with energy. She didn't have a mean bone in her body. After 1 1/2 years she was really coming along just like any puppy. All of a sudden she got a virus in her brain and after 2 weeks of the best neurological care in hospital mostly...they couldn't save my Lucy. The great doctors at the best of the best hospital (we were so lucky to have one 45 min away) were even so upset you can imagine how bad I was.
After much heartache I thought if I was going to try one more time it better be soon or I probably wouldn't ever get another dog. I went to a different breeder and Max picked me.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Hug. He gives some hugs. Lots of kisses. Fetch is his favorite thing in the backyard but the family room will work in a pinch!!!
Walks are getting easier since buying the walking harness. What a difference.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Me right now. I will prof. groom him soon.
