That is the nightmare I was referring to in my answer--thankfully, my friend's pup from the same litter has been Xrayed and is fine--but so many are not--I think the woman you got the pup from meant well and was truly heartbroken by this event, but there was no pedigree history for her dogs like there is with a reputable breeder. My breeder started with AKC champions back when she began and has had healthy pups for years.
