Our standard poodle lost his life companion and was devastated. I got our first labradoodle basically for him and it worked like a charm. He was totally into the puppy. THen when he was approaching the "Rainbow Bridge" we got a goldendoodle puppy for the labradoodle. When the labradoodle died of liver failure, we got our third doodle, an ALD, for a companion for the goldendoodle. When dogs have been raised by other dogs, they become so involved that they definitely need another dog around. It is very hard to see a grieving pet. Good luck in your search.
