What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have a mini/medium F1B labradoodle from Living Streams
Labradoodles in Montana named Tucker. He is almost 17 weeks, and such a beautiful red-gold baby. We also have a 3 year old tabby who has his nose out of joint due to the exuberant new family member
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
love the look, the personality, and the lack of shedding! (and the biggest piece- our daughter has daddy wrapped around her little finger!!)
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Nothing like a great esspresso on the deck first thing in the morning with an adoring doodle at your feet...We beautiful walking paths all over our neighborhood. Tucker has become my faithful walking partner. He gets admired wherever we go... We are also in the middle of our firsts puppy class. Tucker can already sit, stay, lie down, shake a paw, go to his mat, and identify individual toys- now if only we could master the last bit of house training!!
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
We do- he loves to be bathed and blow dried- so it's been easy!
Favorite Doodle Products?
Tucker is very food driven. The best motivating treat we use are the vegetarian meatballs from Costco, and for a really special treat we get fresh Bison bones at a local farmers market.
Tucker is such a beautiful color!! I originally was looking for the rich Apricot coloring but our breeder does temperment testing and Miles was the best fit for us. I love that his ears are Apricot though! Miles weighed in @ 26lbs at his last vet visit 2 weeks ago. He is not a mini and will be approx 85+ when full grown :)
I do know where Silverdale is. How funny. Do you like living in Canada? Does Tucker still nip/nibble fingers? Miles is teething and it's driving me nuts. He likes to mouth our fingers all the time.
Rosco was a tough one to house break too. But he just happens to be a frequent pee-er. No medical issue, no UTI, no kidney problems, no diabetes--got it ALL checked. But if he drinks a large quantity he can't hold it. The fact Tucker's going to the door to pee, though, I think is a step in the RIGHT direction...albeit a few more steps OUT the door would have been better ;-) Rosco has been fully housebroken since he reached 7-10 months, I'd say. He rings the bell every time and if the bell is blocked off via baby gate to the kitchen, he barks. However, he has an evening binge drinking problem and if he is allowed to take it a bit overboard and then left at home for over an hour and a half...he simply can NOT hold it. And yet he can hold it during the day for at least 6 hours (because he just doesn't drink). So just kind of watch how much Tucker drinks (tho don't restrict him during the day) and see if he has any habits of drinking more at any one time. Also some pups and dogs have to pee more than once to eliminate completely. Perhaps Tucker falls in that category. Finally...he's mostly just young. Keep working with him on the bells...did you teach him to nose the bells or paw at them? Rosco only noses things.
Hi Corrine! Welcome to Doodle Kisses! You'll love it here =) My Rosco came from Living Streams as well and we've got several other recent pups from Jodi as well on this site. I also have inlaws in Alberta (Bentley to be precise) so we have a few things in common =)
