I have heard that when humans do weird things like that, it can be an indication that they are deficient in a particular vitamin or mineral. If you modified anything else fairly recently (like changed dog food brands) that might be a clue. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of it. Let's hope it is not a new habit he has formed, as it'd seriously compromise the cuddling you like to do. Good luck & BTW, that is an ABSOLUTELY adorable pic of Oscar.
