Well...as long as they understand the difference and that's what they want...good for them! However, I know one person here with a cockapoo that is BIGGER than her small labradoodle. Here is a link to the photos: http://www.doodlekisses.com/photo/photo/listForContributor?screenName=1iy30uzo40mze
The LIGHT colored dog is the cockapoo =)
Cockapoos can be nice too. What made them choose that mix?
I am not very familiar with cockapoos as our site is focused on labradoodles and goldendoodles. But I know that TimShell Farms (who breeds goldendoodles) also breeds cockapoos. And possibly spingville labradoodles might have some. Good luck in your search. Be SURE to talk to them about making sure whatever breeder they choose does health testing on their parent dogs (ask to see PROOF) and that they offer a MINIMUM of a 2 year health guarantee.
Welcome to DoodleKisses! I agree that the doodle is the perfect dog for almost any family.
Take a look at the Owners Recommended Breeders Group, there you will find recommendations for breeders who fully health test their dogs and raise the puppies in their home like family. I know you want to get your parents a healthy family companion and not just any ole yard dog. Doodles are companion animals and should never be raised like livestock in barns or kennels.
Welcome to Doodle Kisses, Kristine! I hope our community can be useful to you as you search for a doodle for your parents. You might do a search in the forum page for past discussions on choosing a breeder...helpful advice there. Karen's suggestion of visiting those 3 groups is a good one! Though we have many excellent breeders as members, any breeder can advertise here so you will still have to do your own weeding out of good vs. bad.... Note that in all groups a max of 20 posts are listed...you will have to click on "view all" to see the rest. Good luck and watch our video tutorials to help you find your way around this site--there is a link on the front page in the scrolling announcements at the top! Have fun and ask me any questions if you need help.
