I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where I work as a psychotherapist.

Bear is a great big, leggy, goofy black golden doodle. He's 2 years old and spent the first year and a half of his life living in a chaotic environment. Although he's a sweet loving boy at home, he acts like a vigilante on the street. He's very much a work in progress! Maggie is an 8 year old 'blue' poodle who was the runt of her litter of large mini poodles. She was the great aunt of our first poodle, Garfield, our adored therapy dog, who died last year. Life hasn't been easy for Maggie, especially now that she's living with Bear who's like 5 of her put together!

Breeder, Rescue

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?

I got Garfield, a poodle, because I knew he'd be hypoallergenic. I was so in love with him, he was so Buddha-like, that I decided to get Maggie, his great aunt. She is no Buddha! She's a very nervous little girl, but she's also very loving and sensitive. After Garfield died, my son asked for a goldendoodle or labradoodle to take Gar's place. Bear has made us all very happy!

Yes!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?

Me, these days. Bear doesn't like to be handled by people he doesn't know well.
