About Me:: My husband and Hank and I are retired and spend our winters in La Quinta, Ca. We LOVE playing some golf, tennis, bikings, running/walking and entertaining our children and grandchildren.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: We have a medium/size male 2nd generation goldendoodle Barney who weighs 30 lbs. Born on 10-27-08. We have had cocker spaniels in the past. Barney is just the BEST dog, lots of energy and a wonderful desposition. May have to get another one as he LOVES other dogs sooo much. Goes to dog park everyday and LOVES it.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: We chose a doodle b/c of word of mouth and good recommendations. Intelligence of a poodle and disposition of a golden retreiver.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Barney is walked every morning about 3miles. Then off for 1 or 1/2 hrs at the La Quinta dog park. In the afternoon walked again or runs along beside me on my bike. Can't tire him out. Ha

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: Just started grooming him at Grand Paw in Indio, Ca Groomed once a month.

Favorite Doodle Products?: I would like to find a bumper sticker. Have a sweatshirt

Sorry to be so long in writing - things have been quite hectic - have gotten involved at RLQ big time this year - so I feel I have been running at a fast pace for a while! We are now back in kansas - been here about a week now. Our house at RLQ was not up for sale - it was the neighbor's next to us and yes it did look like the sign was in our yard! I kept moving it closer to their side because people thought it was our house for sale! Well it finally sold and we have new neighbors moving in from connecticut this fall. Hope they won't mind us playing out in the yard with Payten - too bad we were there first! Just Kidding! When did you head back home? How is Barney doing? Do you have some travel plans this summer? I would like to stay put for a while. Need to get with our trainer here and work on Miss Payten's manners. Need some help on "no jump" and barking at the golf course mowers going by! Oh well - I have to let her be a dog sometimes! Well hope all is well with you all and let me know how things are! Hugs - Karleen

Love that you can ride your bike and he follows along - bet that is great exercise for Barney and you too! You are welcome to come and visit us anytime - maybe when all the rain has stopped and the grass has dried out a bit. I saw a labradoodle on hole #1 on the Pate cousre this past week - he/she was a gorgeous reddish color and very well behaved. Not on a leash and just watched us golfers with his owner. Payten would have taken off and tried to steal all the golf balls! Enjoy this website - I have learned so much from all the discussions. order yourself the "goldendoodle on board" license plate from the dk store - it is so cute - of course i had to bling it up a bit!
