Charlie was very mouthy too. I just made sure to have a lot of chew toys around and when he'd bite on something he wasn't supposed to, I'd tell him "no" and put a chew toy in his mouth instead.

As for potty/crate training we were not having a lot of luck (or I was doing it wrong) so a week after he came home, we bought a bell and hung it on the door. Every time we took him out, we'd ring the bell with his paw and then when he'd go potty outside, we'd give him a treat. In less than three days he learned to ring the bell when he needs to go out. And he's never, ever had an accident in the house since. Some people worry that they won't know what to do if there's no bell around, but we haven't had that problem. If there's no bell (for example he's in our bedroom or our office with the door closed) he just goes to the door and taps or scratches on the door and we know he wants out.

I actually think the bell made him realize he can make noises to tell us what he wants. LOL. Sounds wierd I know. But a few days after that, without us showing him, he started something else too (that he's been doing since). If he's thirsty and his bowl doesn't have water. He picks it up and taps it on the floor repeatedly until we fill it up.

They are very smart dogs.

Congratulations!!! She looks precious. How have her first days been? And I wonder if we got them at the same place. What breeder did you get her from?

I look forward to a play date :)

Hello Nadini. That sounds great. What area do you live in? We're in Toronto in the Danforth area.

Congrats on the new puppy! When is it coming home?
