About Me:
My family Quinn (my son), Klaus (my husband) and I are owners of a beautiful mini golden doodle, Ranger, and we live in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. We are still in the puppy stages and can't wait till we can go for long walks with our Ranger! My son has wanted a dog for 3 years and finally his wish is fulfilled.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We only have our Ranger. He is a male mini golden doodle and has reddish brown hair color. We got him from Springview mini golden doodles in Longview, FL.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We wanted a hypo-allergenic dog and also loved the mix of a golden retriever and poodle.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
We love to play fetch and can't wait to go for walks. He is still only 11 weeks old.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
we do.
Favorite Doodle Products?
Mink sheen shampoo and ice on ice leave-in conditioner. Can be bought online. Our breeder highly recommended the products. The shampoo is a natural flea repellent.

Love Ranger's name and color!  He looks like a bigger version of Rua!  We have a stuffed dog named Ranger...my husband is from Virginia Minnesota, which is called the Iron Range and people from there are called Ranger's!  Can't wait to see more pictures.

Now that he is 7, our Springer lets us clean his ears. Ned came to us with foxtails in his ears and throat and both were infected. It is the only treatments he has needed and at14 weeks he was manageable. Clancy was 55 pounds when we got him and does NOT, I repeat does NOT cooperate at all. We have had to literally wrestle him down to treat his ears. He also has had an owie on his paw where he was more cooperative. Ears are NO fun. You need to find a groomer asap - sometimes it is hard to find one that doesn't treat them like poodles or charge an arm and a leg. The groomer will pluck the ears as well as bathing, trimming, etc. My advice is to look for one and get him used to going, don't wait until he gets to the matting stage. Ned was about 12 pounds at 14 weeks. The little ones mature faster. Ned quit growing at about 8 - 9 months. He is 17" tall and weighs 26 pounds. He weighs the same at 2 1/2.

Please let me know after you see the vet. We struggle to clear up Gordie's ears. Springers are notorious for ear problems. Ranger is just such a pretty color and his coat is really lovely with all those waves. I'll bet he will get curlier - they often do. Ned didn't except for his neck under his chin. It is fun to speculate and watch the coats change. How big is Ranger expected to get?

I would take him to the vet. Smelly ears most often mean that there is an infection. We battle ear infections with our Springer Spaniel a lot. We try to clean his ears with a solution we get from the vet called Epiotic, but there are others and concoctions you can make at home. Use make-up remover pads to clean the ears.. The smell is yucky. He will also scratch his ears or shake his head. Some dogs might also have ear mites. I just love Ranger's coloring. Ned had a red sister and brothers and I wanted the red female, but, alas my husband got to choose and Ned charmed the socks off of him.It all worked out because Ned is our sweetie, but next time......

Ranger is a beautiful color...I love his coat. If I get another doodle it will be his color. Enjoy your fun times with him. Hold off on "meet ups" with other dogs until he is fully vaccinated.
