The Leesburg Canine Country Club has added doodles to its “breed meetups”. There first one will be on February 12, 2011 and the next one will most likely be in the early spring. You can find the link for these meetups below.

For those of you unfamiliar with the LCCC, the club currently has ~10 acres of fenced off-leash dog play area with 4 distinct pens (5 acres, 2.5 acres, 1.5 acres and .5 acres) for both small and large dogs. To become a full time member, dogs must go through an evaluation process and owners must provide proof of current vaccinations. The fields are covered in grass (as opposed to the mulch, crushed granite, etc like most public parks), has running water and water bowls/buckets, dog pools in the spring/summer and an assortment of toys (chuck it’s with tennis balls, jolly balls, etc).

Selma, I spoke with the owner last week, you are welcome to bring your golden today as long as you bring your doodle.

For the "purebred" meetups, they allow mixes, so lab mixes can go to the lab meetups, goldendoodles can go to the golden meeups, corgi mixes can go to the corgi meetups, etc. My understanding is that for this meetup, they are trying to restrict it to "oodles", as I know LCCC members who have two dogs, an oodle and another breed, can only bring their oodle to the meetup.

unfortunately, I think the club tries to keep the meetups to breed specific dogs. I would reach out to the owner to let her know that you have a doodle and GR and see if you can bring both Info@LeesburgCanineCountryClub.com
On the good news, I know they also have a golden retriever meetup group which has had great attendance in the past
