Lucy Rasmussen

On October 10 there will be a walk in Los Gatos, CA and several other locations throughout the US. The purpose is to raise awareness of cancer in dogs and the work that is being done at the Morris Foundation for K9 Cancers. My contact in the effort is Lynne Benson-Colbert who is being sponsored by Versatility in Poodles. If there is any interest in participating in the Los Gatos walk, I'm sure she would be happy to help. They seem to be a long way from their financial goal, so any contributions would be more than welcome.

Also, Lynne is putting together a slide show of "cancer angels." If anyone has pictures to contribute,they could be emailed to me (lucyrasmussen@stanford.edu) and I will forward them on to Lynne. She needs the pictures by Sept 10.

Lynne writes:

"What I am writing to YOU about, is that I decided that even if someone could not or chose not to participate in the walkathon as a walker or donor, they should be able to honor their "cancer angels"; the dogs they have known and shared their lives with who have also fought cancer. To that end, I am putting together a slideshow with photos of dogs, living and passed, who have had or currently have cancer. Since cancer does not discriminate, I am not limiting this to Poodles.
Please feel free to send me jpeg images of your canine cancer angels and I will add them to the slideshow and email you the finished result.
No identifying information will be added to the photo, so anonymity can be maintained. I plan on cropping out any people in photos, so if you have some without people in them I would appreciate that. Action or stills, serious or comical, whatever type of photo says "this is my dog" is welcome.
I plan on adding the slideshow to the Files section of the non-profit group Versatility In Poodles as well as a couple of other canine groups I belong to and to whoever is interested in seeing it.
