This is your reminder for the doodle romp rescheduled to Sunday, January 3 from 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. (approx.) It will be cold--but at least the snow will be frozen...no mud!
Please note the starting time change to 10:30 a.m. We will continue to meet at the Lakewood Dog Park in Wauconda, on Fairfield Road just north of 176. My cell phone number is 847-650-6313 in case you get to the park and can't find us after the first half hour or so--remember we usually head to the large open area in the north east corner where it's often less crowded and warmer. Hope to see some of you hardy doodle lovers at the romp! Bundle up!
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2010!
Below is the monthly info--included for those of you new to the romp information.
Don't forget--all doodles, friends of doodles, and potential doodle owners are always welcome! Our list keeps growing, and it's thanks to you spreading the word!
If you have any questions—or any e-mail addresses to be added to the list, please e-mail us (Joan, Steve, and Charli) at charli594@comcast.net. If you get to the park after the first half hour and you don’t see any doodles near the entrance, we have probably moved to another part of the park—usually a large open area in the northeast section of the park where it is less crowded and warmer. There are often a few who don't take the walk, so they can point you in the right direction. The Wauconda Dog Park is fully fenced and very big!
Here's a map to the dog park-just type in your address!

Here is Lake County Forest Preserve's web site, which has a detailed map of the park and more information. http://www.lcfpd.org/preserves/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.view&object_id=201&type=P
The park does charge, but there is a convenient self serve kiosk in the parking lot to buy daily permits for the park. Daily permits for Lake County residents-$5 per dog. Out of county residents are $10 per dog. Exact cash or check is required, and you will receive a permit to put in your car's visor. Daily or annual permits are also available online here:
