Thought I would finish up painitng a metal cabinet I have been working on painting. Afterwards the girls and I were going to go to the dog park for the evening. Well they heard go away and dog park and broke down the divider between my rooms and crashed right into the paint. If you could of seen the look on Honey's face, it was so sad. No way that I know of to get paint out of a doodle...so on the grooming table she went. After three hours of trying to remove paint from a dog's coat...she got shaved...and just glad it was not in her skin...I don't know if there would be side effects if it is asorbed by the skin, other than may be cause a rash...

Oh my goodness, sounds like a sitcom! I hope you took a picture.
Paint can't be good for a dog's skin so you did the right thing. I also must ask, any pictures? We are so bad.
Wish I had a camera for my puter...but don't...and no other one around, was to worried about getting this darn paint off of her and it not getting into her skin. The look was priceless..."OMG what did I do now" I cried till I had to laugh at her. She is bald from the back of her head to her tail, and while trying to clip her she kept wanting me to hold her and give me hugs...that worked out real well. She will be nice and cool for the rest of the summer..lol.
I am glad you were able to avoid having paint getting under Honey's skin. I could picture the event in my mind. LOL! At our house we have to spell the w__k word otherwise the Boys start howling in anticipation. Good thing Harlow hasn't learned to howl... yet.

Did Honey run into the wet paint on the cabinet or into the can of paint? I can just imagine Rustoleum paw prints across the floor. Though doodle coat prints on wall could be the next big faux painting technique. =)
Isn't it funny how they learn the important words. My dogs love to hear "Let's go" and their favorite word of all is "beach". When we get near HOndo starts talking to me. He just can't wait. Maybe you need to start spelling words like dog park and let's go. But it is a real funny story. Hair grows back - maybe even too quickly.
I had the can of paint sitting on a tray, 1st mistake, she was runing with Hannah and playing and not watching where she was going as usual, thinking oh boy we get to go away to the doggy park...and wham right into the side of the tray, which tipped over onto her back. Luckly I have a huge tarp on the floor around the cabinet. Tried to grab her at the same time the paint went flying, but she thinks your trying to play with her and she turned right back into the direction of the paint. Hannah had the smarts to stop runing when I told her to. I had to scissors her first, than clip her..what a mess. They say to use mineral spirits to clean your brushes, but don't tell you how to get it off anything else.

Darn never thought of DOODLE Coat prints for the wall...lol...Thank God she did not try and shake it off...OMG...
What a mess that must have been. Since it wasn't my house or my doodle, I have to say that the picture I got in my mind was pretty funny! I have had paint on my skin and my hair and the parts I couldn't wash off, wore off with no side effects. I hope this would be the same result with a dog. I hope you don't mind our giggles at your expense - and I appreciate this as a reminder to be very careful when I paint next time.
Don't mind the laughs...not at all. Thank God it landed on the tarp and not the carpet. I felt really bad for her, cause I never thought something like this would happen. Even the best planned skits in Hollywood could not of produced something like this. Wish I had a video of it...lol. Honey has this habit of prancing and jumping at Hannah to chase her, and then hearing their two faviotie phrases, "Doggy Park" and "Go bye bye", it just was to much. I woke up looking at her this morning and her giving me kisses all over my face, I couldn't help but laugh at her. All night long she kept snuggling to keep warm. This poor dog has a bald body, she has hair on her head and tail, but inbetween OMG it's skin city, and yes she looks comical. I tried to blend in her hair, she looked like patch work. At least there is a bright side to this...less to brush...every cloud does have a silver lining...lol.
Denise, you have a great sense of humor to be able to laugh at this so soon after it happened. Reading about it is funny, but if it happened to me, I think it would've taken me a month or two before I could laugh about it! Thank heavens you had a tarp down!

On a more serious note, I read somewhere that dogs can get sunburn, their skin is even more sensitive to the sun than ours. You might want to be extra careful of Honey's time in the sun.
It was hysterically funny after I calmed myself... ( I felt so bad for her, but yet at the same time what else could I do) it definetly was an OMG, you little turd moment...better than anything the Three Stooges could of done. The look on her face was priceless, like what did I get myself into now..all I wanted was to go to the Doggy Park and play...This weekend was the anniversary death of both my parents, so it's funny the little things that happen to get you through and help you. My Mom was always a prankster so this probably had her art work all over it.
Yes I thought of that also (sun, skin), been looking for a one'ze that would fit her..lmao or child outfit all in one...OMG ...she really only needs it for the dog park and walks...should probably keep it on her at night also so she don't get cold when the air is on. Checking out girly tops for her as an option also...will try and get some pics with a regular camera soon...I hope.
Darn! That would have been a Kodak moment I would have enjoyed! LOL
I would of died.....of shock and laughter! It is a shame no pictures, they would of been great! I know we are all a little bit evil.
Was the paint still wet or dry?
