Blake is my first male dog....He was neutered at six months old. He's about 18 months old now, still squats to pee but I'm noticing that he is now beginning to "mark" outside...He could drain his bladder completely and still manage to squeeze out a few drops if it means peeing over another males "spot"...lol...It's actually funny to watch...

Sometimes at the dog park, they seem to have "p****** contests"...It will be a group of males all standing around trying to out pee each other in one particular spot...Over and over again! (until someone throws a ball and distracts them..)

Anyway I was under the impression that males will display less of this behavior when they are neutered.....

Rosco squats in our yard...but loves to mark trees, posts, etc to return his pee-mail. He even peed on a dog statue once -- I think it must have been marked before though and he was just keeping up the tradition!

But even Cass our female border collie marks...she's a HUGE marker when we go walking (cuz she walks off leash half the time).
Hi Adina,

I understand the whole doggie mail ( very cute) aspect of peeing...It's just interesting that with the males it seems like a dominance thing...."My pee is more important than yours...My genetic information is better than yours...even though I'm fixed and can't reproduce..!"..lol ..and I always thought that neutering would quell that instinct to spread the genetic word...

By the way, FYI- Your thoughts of printing with the mentioned organization sounds great...I like their stuff!!...perfect...but if you need that ISBN or graphics etc. let me know....( It's on me..) ...I can customize the above graphic for anyone that is interested...(it was my last year's Christmas Card..)...Make the Doodle look like their Doodle, change the name on the snowman etc......Thanks for your input...
I do love the graphic Jacquie! Hilarious =)
I'm trying to think up a good Christmas card idea for this year with our whole family in the picture...we'll see! My optician had a fabulous one a couple years back...may "borrow" his idea... (oh and thanks for the offer..I will absolutely keep it in mind!)
Max will pee over everywhere Peanut pees. HE will also lift his leg to mark bushes
he's neutered and never did this till i had a another male doodle intact in our home for 10mos
My Goldendoodle, Tanner, will be two in January,he doesn't mark and he still squats to pee..I had him neutered when he was six months old.
