Ruby is now a Certified Service dog!!! Yahhhhh!

Yahhhh!! She passed! It was a very tough test! She had to sit outside Walmart & let John put on her cape & wait outside until he hooked up her leash. A trainer came by with her dog & Ruby ignored it! Ruby had to let a stranger pet her & a kid come up & pet her & a stranger take her leash & walk away with her! She had to let a stranger step over her. The tester dropped a clip board behind her. The trainer, tester & stranger went into a food court & she had to get under the table & the gal threw food really close to her! John had to keep her from touching it! It almost bounced off her nose! She then had to get into car & do it as John asked. We then went home. She waited until we went in. She retieved a pen, a set of keys, a toothbrush, a sprinkler head cover, a full water bottle, a sock, pull his jacket off, pull a glove & sock off & opened a door with a tug! She did perfect! She stood for her picture & stayed so good. We were so proud of her!!! Daddy could have busted his buttons! We took her to Fleet & Walmart & out to eat with us after! She got tons of treats!!! She & we are utterly exausted tonite! Went for a nice boat ride tonite! Thanks for listening!!! Yahhhhh Ruby!!!! They are sending a backpack for her! I will send a picture when we get it! Sues

Wow, what a test of wills for her, but what a good girl she is. I've often wondered how our doods would do with training like that but work and my grandson leave me with little extra time. Maybe someday, I'd at least like them to be therapy dogs for our nursing home just a few blocks from our home. My dad would have loved having them visit and sit by him so he could scratch their heads and chins.

That is so fantastic, congratulations Ruby and family :) I can only imagine all the breath holding as she completed all the tests, I bet you all were tired! She is smart and beautiful, good job on training her.

Thanks sooo much!!!! We are sooo proud of her!! WHEW! Glad it's over! The head trainer from Minneapolis was her tester & she couldn't believe what she'd done in a bit over 3 weeks, when she was approved!! It's been a gas! Never ever had a high like this! Now we have to send in a report every month for 6 mo & then once a year! Thanks!!
