You can only vote onceper logo. Extra votes cancel out YOUR previous one (for that logo).
If we have several that are very close or tied, we will narrow the field to those pix and vote again on those. We'll keep eliminating pix until we have a winner!
The winner will receive a funky custom collar and leash from our member Melissa of CanineFrosting.com Thanks Melissa!
As a writer who has worked in creative departments with graphic artists and designers for many years, I wanted to provide a little insight into logo design. Here are some basics ...
- Logos need to reproduce equally well in black and white, and color.
- Logos need to be legible when reduced to a postage-stamp size.
- Logos need to "work" when reversed (another words, black can be white and white can be black ...)
I'll let you know ;-)
Actually I'm going to leave ALL of them up one more day as not all members visit daily so as many as possible have a chance to vote. Then I'll eliminate the bottom few and leave you with the highest rated ones for some more voting. Then if there is a tie then we'll take one FINAL vote.
This logo... is it going to be printed on anything? Or is this logo going to be the overall official logo of DK.com? I got to thinking about logo placement and if the logo is going to be placed on shirts, the website, colars, ect... Pictures of animals and those of dark contrast or with high detail arent going to print as well. I have learned this from past projects, as I also create designs for an Arizona clothing line and was appraised by everyones approval, but once the print proof came back, it was a different story.
I am not trying to crush the hope of everyone, there really are some great designs that were submitted. Honestly with logos, web banners, and printable designs in general... you want something eye catching and pertaining to the social habits of the community. At the same time, simpicity is often the best route to take to avoid costly prints to adhere to the high detail of the proposed image.
