Goldendoodles or Labradoodles??????

I have my thoughts and I'd like to know what others think. Why did you get a goldendoodle or a labradoodle? I'm curious. Thanks.

I agree they are different...but in the grand scheme of breeds, they are not THAT different given they are both retrievers, both family dogs, both fun loving, generally good temperaments, etc. So add a poodle in there and GD's and LD's are even closer in traits. But yes, NOT the same. I think appearance is the biggest thing I've noted in differences. SOFTER coats on F1 GD's too owing to the softer golden hair vs. the rougher poodle and rougher lab hair.

I have met hyper goldens and hyper labs. I've also met really mellow ones of both breeds. But I have met/seen high energy OLDER goldens and fewer high energy older labs. So I'm tempted to think GR's have more energy longer...but it's a limited observational 'study' =)

So it's a toss-up really.

I thought goldendoodle are cuter because of their faces and their hair is usually longer. I do like the shaggy look

I do agree about the Golden thing - If they didn't shed they'd be the best. Thank you GOD for the goldendoodle!
