We live on 30 acres in Maine. We were picking apples with one of our neighbors Saturday and he told me he has named my Australian Labradoodles "Timberdoodles."
He said that around here a timberdoodle is another name for a woodcock--those small, chubby, cinnamon colored ground birds that hunters look for. Seeing as I have chocolate, apricot and cream miniatures, I can see the likeness and the name is cute. Has anyone applied a descriptive, fun name to your doodle. If so, I would love to hear it.
Off Topic - but I used to have a yellow lab names Doodles -named in 1976 pre labradoodle - and named a cat I adopted a little while later I named Snickers, so I couldn't use those names for either of my doodles :(
My neighbor calls my little Ozzie a Webkin - thery are little stuffed animals that kids can play with on line
(if you have never heard of them). Not sure why he calls him that - but my guess is just because he is small and fluffy?? I must admit a doodle would make a cute Webkinz!!
Oh my mom is even hooked on them now!! You buy them and they come with a code for the website...it is a virtual pet basically!! Fun for kids - they actually learn a lot!!
One of my friends can't seem to remember the word goldendoodle, so he calls Halas a poodledoodle. I've also heard snickerPoodle instead of snickerdoodle.
