Bell Training: Riley rings but doesn't always go potty

We LOVE our new addition, Riley. She is 12 weeks old and we have had her for 2 weeks. She is EXTREMELY smart and quickly mastered ringing the bell to go outside, but now she is driving us crazy by ringing the bell to go out, attempting to eat bark and rocks, etc. I know that we shouldn't abort the bell, but is there any way to further connect the bell with potty and not play?

Yes, this is what we did the treat was just one piece of puppy food (ALWAYS) in our pockets now.And using there nose or paw to show them how...this too shell pass.Good Luck!!

I feel your pain. My Riley is 13 weeks and is now abusing the bell so badly that he runs over to the door, bats it around like a cat would. Then picks it up with his mouth and runs back to his bed with it.
