I would love to hear them all from everyone!

I'll give you a few examples:

Blake will not leave the house for a walk without grabbing his beloved stuffed Alligator...He takes it eveywhere we go and will carry it for the entire walk, putting it down briefly to sniff for awhile but always remembers exactly where he left it and won't continue on without it...If I pick it up and hide it in my fanny pack, he knows it immediately and won't budge til I take it out and give it back to him....At night he sleeps on the end of my bed with it .....resting his chin on it like a pillow....That is...when he isn't sleeping on his back with all four paws up in the air snoring in my ear......

He also collects things he finds outside around the house...Acorns, pinecones and rocks..He's very particular about the kinds of rocks he prefers...they must be smooth and round...He doesn't eat them...He just seems to like the sound that they make on my wooden floor as he bats them around.....He will actually bring them inside, pull up my rug exposing the wood floor, lie down and bat the item back and forth in his paws making as much noise as he can....I have an entire collection of his treasures in my kitchen....I'll have to take a picture of Blakes's collection and post it......

Post your whack-a-doodle stories!

Yeah, my friend with the golden retriever said her dog never sleeps flat on his back like our doodles do. I don't know a lot about poodles, but I haven't heard of them sleeping like that. I think it's their innate floppiness that allows them to lay that way.

The ball under the furniture thing is definitely on purpose. If I lay in front of the table or the couch, to try to keep Halas from doing it, he wedges his way between me and the furniture, just so he can keep playing the game.
I usually have my laptop on my lap and have to put it aside to get down and look under the chair. If I just ignore him, he digs at the carpet and chair. Sometimes we have to put the ball up.

I love that!..."Doodle Pose"...I always call it "Centerfold"

My doodles have these same traits! My male "Cole" sleeps on his back. My female "Molly" has to have her Buddy when she goes to sleep and lays her head on him. If she forgets.....you hear her trotting off to get him. If she is ready to go to bed before us....she goes and gets her Buddy brings him to us to let us know she is ready for bedtime! So smart! Molly is the collector. She hids her favorite balls under different tables and lets us know when she wants us to get them for her to play with. So funny!
I love that Molly is a "collector" too....I'm relieved to know that other Doodles do this.......I was starting to worry that Blake was simply hording as many puppy mill rescue dogs will do......
Do your doodles greet you at the door with a toy? Ours have to bring you something as if to say "Glad your home....time to play!"
Everytime!......I know this a retriever thing.....My mom raised Labs when I was growing up and they all do that too......
Halas also looks crushed if someone walks by him without saying hi or stopping to pet him. It's really hard for him, but he'll try to sit still when he sees someone, and then, when they look at him, he gets all excited. And then when they say something to him, he gets even more excited. If they ignore him, he stares at them, like, "How could you walk by me without petting me?"

He's a little more reserved around other dogs, which I don't really understand. He likes to play once he knows the dog, but he gets a little nervous at the dog park if a bunch of dogs are trying to sniff him at once.
Some of our friends have older dogs (like 9 - 11 years old), and Halas does great with them. He just follows them around. He may try to play once, but he won't jump on them or anything. He just takes the hint that they don't want to play, and he just hangs out with them. But now, when he's with another puppy, and that puppy wants to play and play and play, Halas doesn't know what to make of it. Halas wants to rest, but the other puppy won't stop playing.

Halas likes meeting with his doggy friends at doggy obedience, but he, too, is overwhelmed by the number of dogs at the dog park. And he's so interested in exploring that space, that he kind of ignores the other dogs.

Furry balls of mud are fun to clean up, aren't they?
Yes Blake too seems aloof at times at the dog park.....He just wants to flip his ball in the air and chase it by himself and sometimes he gets annoyed if another dog tries to join in....He'll actually grab the ball and make his way over to me where he feels that he's free to play by himself....If another dog comes by, he looks at me with an expression like "Aren't you going to do something about this?..."
Beckett sleeps on his back too with his legs splayed out! I had a golden before but he never did this. Beckett seems to like to pile all his toys up. Don't know why !?
