I have been dealing with this since day one with Oliver (17 months), he rarely has a good solid poop. The Fortiflora you can get on line and it is much cheaper than the vet. It works wonders on Oliver, I switched his food to grain/gluten free and he seems to be doing a bit better. Also pumpkin is good too.
He is eating the acana which is grain/gluten free. The vet wants me to come and get the fortiflora tomorrow. The diarrhea completely goes away when he is on the metronidizole. I know he can't stay on the antibiotic forever so hopefully the fortiflora will help.
Pumpkin is the best! Hope all comes out OK in the end (sorry...couldn't resist)!
Have you thought about switching to a Raw meat diet? Allergies can often lead to irritated stomach and intestinal linings making diarrhea an ongoing problem. It may take a week or two to resolve the issues, but I believe it would help.
