I just wanted to throw this out there. I don't even know if I am allowed to or not on this website so if I am not I hope Adina will forgive me.

Most of us on here are Hopeless Doodle Addicts, no matter what our number status is on here. I am almost totally confident that if I was to come to any of your homes, I would be able to find more toys then the average toy store has. (My house literally is overrun with toys) I bet I could find brushes and grooming supplies that have cost so much money that you could feed a shelter or rescue dog for a year with the money you spent on it. I am not saying you shouldn't. Lord, I am not kidding when I say I hide some of Jack's toys when people come over because it is down right embarrassing.

My health is horrible and I am only able to work one day a week, but somehow I always budget in for Jack.

I have started something that I really want to see take off. For Jack's second birthday which is a week from today, I am having a birthday party for him. In lieu of gifts I am accepting money and or food for the local shelter.

What I did not realize is that we right here, some very special doodles are in need. I have to be honest, I never in a million years could have imagined that a doodle would be in need, I mean they are the cutest, sweetest and most loving dogs in all the world right?? HA. who knew.

I have not been on here long so I was not fully aware of the DRC group on here. I just talked to Karen yesterday.  I have donated some money to them already, I don't have much, but I spent what I would have spent on an average day taking Jack out to buy him more toys he does not need.

Would you join me in donating something to DRC?  Just click on this link and you can see.

Did you know Adina's little Rosco came from there??? I will now be donating all of Jack's christmas, birthday, easter, and holiday present funds to this amazing organization.

Would you join me in wishing my baby a happy birthday by helping another dood in need? I promise Jack is having a huge party, with dog cake, ice cream and lots of fun. We need to make other dood's lives better.

So what do you say, so many of you said you wanted to come to Jack's birthday  party. This is a way you can contribute. For each person that contributes because of this post. I will personally send you a little and I do mean little because that is all I can do, token to say thank you for helping other doods.

What do you say? Who is in?

Jennifer, What a nice idea. I donated, but you don't need to send me a thing. My dogs are spoiled too and our house is overflowing with stuff. Look for us on the show Hoarders if I keep buying Fudge and Vern toys. Happy Birthday, Jack!!

I am literally crying, It may be because I am on steroids.. LOL we all know the joys of Prednisone and if you do not it is like PMS times one million. Thank you so much for doing this, for donating.. I stand by my word that Jack and I would be happy to send a little token gift to each of you.

Just PM me your address and I will do it.. Thank you so much!!!

Karen, if you read this, do you think you can give us a total at the end of next week of how much money was raised???

The best gift in the world is to help another human or dog, I strongly feel that way.

Thanks again!!! You Doodle Head lovers are the best!!

Been there done that with the Prednisone.  My junior year of highschool had to go on large dosage because I was diagnosed with Crohn's and also have had to use it once in awhile for my asthma (not sever).  Hang in there!  :)
Yes Prednisone stinks.. I am doing okay with it, my breathing is not so great, so  I will gladly take that if it means I can get off this dang oxygen. I don't think people under the age of 70 should have to carry around one of those big green tanks with wheels!!! It sort of puts a damper on my dating!!
I'm not involved with the money end of things, but if people mark their donations in some way that tells us that they are in honor of your Jack's birthday, we can probably get a total. There is a line "Notes to sellers" where they can mark "Jack's Bday" or some such thing. Otherwise, there isn't any way to differentiate from other monies that may be donated during the same period.
I already did mine, but under "purpose", I put Doodle Kisses Challenge!!!  Did through PayPal.  Hopefully that will help identify it.
That'll work!
You're right, Karen.  If people mark Jack's Birthday we will know that this is the reason for the donation.  Jennifer, thank you SO much for doing this.  I'm donating too to celebrate Jack's birthday, but I really don't need you to send anything to us.  I'm just so thankful that there are people like you who are so generous and willing to help DRC.  You and Jack are very special.  Thank you!
It is without a question of a doubt that it is the people who do, who are hands on that are the angles. I am so happy to know that other babies that deserve just as much love as the ones ours get may get a shot at some happiness...
Jennifer...you would be surprised how every little amount adds up.  You were not a member when Midnight who was a DRC Doodle needed new hips!  They put on a campaign for donations for Midnight's Hips and the surgery was scheduled for around Christmas time.  After reading Midnight's story we all were crying our eyes out and jumping on the computer to make donations.  Other DRC ladies added a bonus to those who donated.  We got beautiful DRC bandanas which came in many colors.  The individual DRC people donated the bandanas and another donated the postage to ship them to us.  The response was amazing.  Then we all took pictures of our Doodles with their bandanas on and posted them.  It was a great DK effort and we all had smiles on our faces.  Midnight today is doing fantastically.  There was a recent blog on his update!  I think everyone would agree that you should save the postage it would take to thank each person individually and either donate it or put it in a fund for Jack's new toys!!!!  Just an email is all anyone wants for such a wonderful idea and cause.  I am going to donate now!

I still get choked up when I watch Jane's Smilebox slideshow of all the DK doodles weaing bandanas for Midnight:

DK Doodles Wearing Bandanas for Midnight

OMD me too.. I can't cry right now I won't stop.. That is so cool!!!
