Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Has anyone noticed that the website now seems to be censoring certain words, with hilarious results?
I first noticed this in posts where the word bitch was used appropriately to describe a female dog. The word kept coming up with asterisks in place of letters, and I didn't think that the posters had done that themselves, as in most cases they were breeders who are not uncomfortable with the word "bitch."
Now today, a Food Group member started a new discussion about the Natural Balance line of dog food, made by (or licensed by) the actor Dick van Patten. Take a look at the way the discussion comes up:

This is pretty funny, but also kind of scary. Don't we have any members named Dick, or with a surname that contains those letters (I have a friend whose maiden name was Dickler) and if so, are their screen names full of asterisks?
I'm going to have to think of some other common every day words that also have "naughty" connotations and see what happens.
**UPDATE**:
Adina has fixed the problem, which makes this whole discussion moot, but still funny.

LOL, I had to retitle a photo that I called "I Thought I Saw a Pussy Cat" to "I thought I Saw a Puddy Cat".
It only seems to censor in the titles and not in the body part of discussions or blogs.
No new "censoring"... it's been this way for years. And yes, we add and remove words as needed. So if we need new ones or need to get rid of old ones, let us know.
The bad word list is huge and generic. As for us "missing" words like bitch that pertain to dogs, we just haven't read through the entire list of tens of thousands of nasty words to make sure there are no false positives. As they come up, we adjust the list.
We certainly don't want to impede any Dick jokes.
I always recite George Carlin's, 7 words.... Then I know if it is safe.
I had no idea there were thousands. Geesh, what am I missing?
