Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am in need of being distracted and keeping busy.... I have netflix and the ability to download just about any book that is available...

I can't get out and drive on my own right now so I can't get to the library or things like that.....  I am bored in between treatments and I was wondering what your favorite dog book or movie was.

I read the Temple Grandin (spelling sorry) Animals make us human and it was interesting.  Since I am about all things Jack I would love to watch a good movie and read some books.... Educational books, training books, food books, novels but for the love of God do not recommend Hachi that movie almost put me in respiratory failure I cried so hard.. LOL

Thanks for any ideas.......I tried to look on the internet about raw feeding as I am doing that and I found some groups but apparently since I am doing commercial raw and ground I am "not doing it right so I am not accepted"   Seriously.. that is funny.... truly.......

Yes! I can't wait...soon as I wake up I am going to start watching the first oneI only got 30 minutes into the 3 rd one but I was laughing.....I loved all that I saw.....I just recently learned about Amazon movie rentals...you can rent anything on there.....

Now to fall asleep.....

KAREN!!!! I knew there was a part two and three and I still bawled my eyes out when Jerry Lee got shot.... Oh I loved loved loved loved part one.. It made me fall so in love with Jerry Lee ... Now I get why in part three they put a poodle outfit on the German Shepard. LOL

This movie has something for everyone, action, touching, loving, funny.... I just love this movie, I am going to order the hard copy of it to have it for all time.. This for sure is up there with one of my favorites .. On to part two!!!

You all need to watch this if you haven't seen this yet..

Hey, I never steer you guys wrong, do I?

Lol this is a good one for sure....some aspects of it reminded me of Turner and Hooch .....but I liked this one way better...

On to the second one .....
K911 was even better then the first one....loved it..felt a little sad about Jerry Lee getting older until the end of the movie....I didn't make it to he third one as I had very unexpected company that was a big surprise and made my night!

Tomorrow K9 PI and more movies thanks guys!

IMO, the third one is nowhere near as good as the first two. But still entertaining.

I loved the first two....last night I got 30 minutes into the 3 rd one before I realized it was the 3 rd one. I was laughing.

What I loved about the first two was how their relationship formed....how he really bonded with him....I thought of you a couple of times and smiled when they showed the crappy dog food and the dog drinking beer...

I don't know a lot about German Shepard's but I started googling....they seem so loyal ....I am surprised I don't see more of them as service dogs....they seem like such amazing dogs.......

I loved how Jerry Lee had a thing for poodles....is there German Doodles??? Ha.

Thanks again for the great movie ideas....I am going to buy at least one and two for my mom for the holidays!

German Shepherds are the original seeing eye dogs, and are still the number one breed used for that work. They are also widely used as assistance dogs. They are more than loyal...they bond to a human faster and stronger than any other breed in existence, and they will lay down their lives for you. That's the reason they are the preferred breed for police work; not because they're bigger or stronger or more ferocious than lots of other breeds, they aren't...it's because of their tremendous working drive and what GSD people call the "Shepherd Bond". I love them. I had several GSD fosters and let all of them go, although I wanted to keep one of them in particular with all my heart, but it just wouldn't have been fair to that dog at that time in my life. One of these days....

That is so amazing.....I know I will never have another dog....but what a new respect I have for these dogs......it almost makes it more sad to think how they must feel if they were to be rehomed or mistreated..

I thought labs were the main working dog....I am interested in learning more about them....I don't think I have ever seen a German Shepherd in person...I am very breed naive about just about every breed.....

My heart would break just thinking of the loyality of this type of dog.....

You have to have seen a police K9 unit.

You know what! I did actuAlly see a police K9 dog...I forgot about that...actually Jack and I saw him together.....he was in the back of a police car in my development when I was walking Jack.....

We didn't touch him or anything...but I remember talking to the police man about him and the dog ...I believe he spoke German to him as his commands...I forgot about that....I would like to see one where I could pet him or her..though I am sure that is a no no to a K9 police dog..

I'm surprised. There are at least half a dozen GSDs in my neighborhood.

What a shame that you have pitbulls, but no German Shepherds.
