Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
A neighbor stopped by the other day and had his two dogs with him. The older one was a beautiful golden retriever and the youngster her black puppy. He said she got pregnant the first time she went into heat and they had wanted to breed her but not so soon. They advertised the nine puppies for sale since both parents were registered dogs but the animal control came and asked for his breeding license. Don't have one? He was given a citation (fix it ticket) which gave two alternatives. Spay his dog or apply for a breeder's license. Well, another neighborhood dog spayed. But apparently the animal control watches for any advertised dogs for sale and require a breeder's license.

Terrific!
LOVE this!
I'm so glad to hear that your local animal control actively enforces breeding laws!
Oh, I like THAT!!!
It seems so simple doesn't it? I wonder how many towns/cities actually practice this. Thanks for sharing!
This is awesome. I wish they did this everywhere.
That's great, but I wonder what it takes to get a "breeder's license".
Dang, I wish they were more strict in Florida - we have hobby breeders and commercial breeders. Hobby breeders are permitted up to two litters (+/-, can't remember the exact number) a year and are exempt from having to obtain a breeding license. boo hiss
Fantastic... I truly wish that every town in the US would do this !!! I would certainly pay extra taxes for this :)
This is great!
