I just got a confrimation from Jac that she has sent the DRC form letter. Let's hope the owner responds, or at least asks an adoption fee. Listing a dog "Free to Good Home" on CL is pretty much like just dropping him off at a kill shelter; it puts his life in danger.

Good the owner got it from two people then. I sent also.  This is always so sad.

Terribly sad. And again, another example of why we must all speak out against anyone buying a puppy from anyone other than a reputable and responsible breeder. When you buy from an ethical breeder, this is never necessary, because it's in the contract that you must notify the breeder before transferring ownership, and a good breeder will take her dog back and/or help you rehome him responsibly. A legitimate rescue group will also insist on taking the dog back. It's only dogs from the mills, the BYBs, and the people who think it would be fun/profitable to breed doodles who end up given away on CL or dumped in kill shelters.
