Another doodle on Craigslist

After seeing all the recent ads for unwanted doodles on Craigslist, I thought perhaps I should check the local listings here in South Florida. This is what I found: http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/for/2741723845.html. Six months is so young and this makes me really sad! Maybe someone in the South Florida group knows someone responsible who is looking for a doodle? Or should I reach out to the DRC?

Well, the university where I teach (a state school) is also in Boca, so it has a bit more than that. However, it does have more than its fair share of clueless retirees and wealthy people. Most of the dog owners in Boca, however, have tiny dogs that they push around in strollers. Seriously.

First of all. she's "SELLING" for $600 which is prohibited form CL just a small rehome fee. Then she says adopt in the article. Thatt's not adopting a doodle in need that's SELLING your family dog!

There are also a lot of breeders who use the word "adoption" when what they really mean is "sale". "Adopting a Puppy" sections on the websites, and then the $500 deposit is mentioned followed by when the balance of the purchase price is due. I don't know where this comes from, but it annoys the heck out of me, as well as everyone else who really "adopted" a dog from a shelter. Apparently, "adopting" is synonymous with "purchasing" when it comes to dogs.

I know most would agree with me here ... but my two doodles are a major part of my family !!! they are 110% family members and are treated as such and are loved just like the human members (maybe a bit more).  How could these knuckleheads give up a member of their family is beyond me.  I guess they really never considered their pet a "family member" so they treat them like a used toy.  Dog ownership is both rewarding and challenging and not every dog is perfect but to just post it on line is just sickening to me.  If you are devoted to your dog you will take the time, money and effort to correct any flaws - I know I love my dogs NO MATTER WHAT !!!! good or bad !!!!  they are an extension of me, giving up my doodles would be like cutting off my right arm !!!!  I'm in shock at how these heartless people treat animals !!!!!
