Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
A while back I had posted about an upcoming trip to a vacation house in a lake area. Everyone suggested it was perfectly fine to take my 10 week old Maggie. I've gotten some more details about the place and want to ask you guys what you think. My two concerns: 1) Owners who were just at the house recently have dogs. Don't know how old or what kind or if they got all shots. I would be surprised if they hadn't. They are not puppies. But still. 2) Silly California girl that I am, I had assumed there would be fencing in between the yards and houses. No enclosed fencing area here. Just freedom. Urg.
This is my plan for the moment. Maggie is pretty well trained to the Poochie Bells. I'm going to bring them and hopefully find an indoor area, maybe the garage even where I can put the puppy pads down. She came to me paper trained, but I have taught her to ring the bells and go on grass. I'm hoping that necessity can help her adjust if I am on top of it. I am hoping to avoid taking her out to the grass for potty because I assume that is where these other dogs go when they are at the house, who knows how many other dogs have access, and she doesn't do well yet on a lead since she just goes in my small enclosed back yard at home.
Am I doing enough to keep her safe and healthy?

Just confirmed that the dog is 10 years old and fully vaccinated. Should be ok, right? If the dog is going to track anything in I doubt it will be any different then my kids running in and out of the house.
