need help: My dog is pregnant.

I have a Goldendoodle that was impregnated some were about mid October. Cant afford a vet. Any advice on care, food, or preparation would be helpful.

I cleared out an area for her in a spare room. I hope to have a whelping box for her. ( If anyone has one they're not using right now that I could use, That would be great.) From what I can figure she is ready to drop any time in the next 7 to 10 days.

I apologize for the mini-rant.  Poor Jennifer came with this post from a place of goodness to seek help for an idiot woman for the sake of the dogs.  I have nothing to offer, so I am just being pi**y.  Sorry Jennifer :(

I DO know this-I was in panic mode because no vet for the puppies? They won't even have first shots! Or a physical. I just thought that if the best we could do is give her advice they might make it. She doesn't mention what it mated with and will probably sell them as Goldendoodles on CL which is frustrating me more. She's a couple miles away from me and I want to go choke her! Her most imprtant thing to her is the whelping box, couldn't she do without and make some area in the room she cleared out and get on the darn internet and see if she can find instructions somewhere or something???

The whelping box thing makes me think this may be a BYB who is looking for freebies by playing on peoples' sympathies. How does she know there is even such a thing as a whelping box if she's never bred a litter before and she's stupid enough to "unintentionally" let an intact female doodle to get pregnant? I smell a rat.

Hmmm, good points but to be fair I know about whelping boxes and I've never bred a litter. But I also know about spay and neuter.

Here we go again !!!!!!   Why do you have an animal if you can't afford a vet ????  So she has a pet for her OWN satisfaction and obviously could care less about the needs of the dog - right???  What would she do if the dog got sick, I guessing the poor thing is not UTD on shots, general health check -- all the things that go with responsible pet ownership !!!!  Arrrrggggg another night of being angry at the ignorance of people and feeling so sorry for these poor dogs :(

This really is the worst of all these Craig's List postings to me, because not only is the Mom in danger but also her whole litter of puppies.  It makes me think about one of the new DRC pups who is blind and partially deaf because he was oxygen deprived at birth.  I have no details about the circumstances of this little guy's delivery, but "birthing puppies" is not for someone who is clueless.  I can only pray that someone intervenes so that this Doodle Mom and her babies are safe.  Too many tragic situations for me to even wrap my brain around today.

Sooooo many things can go wrong giving birth.  Another thought .... what will she do if one of the puppies needs medical attention???  let the poor thing suffer, this is very upsetting !!!!!

Perhaps she could contact her local pet adoption center and BEG them to take her dog. Then she needs to be banned from pet ownership ever again.
