I purchased (on line) a "jumbo" antlerz for my 70 lb. doodle, hoping that it would solve the problem of Oliver chewing through just about everything that I've tried. Well, once again I've failed to find the dog chew that he couldn't destroy. I must admit that it did take him over 30 minutes this time (usually 20 minutes or less) to break off 2 pieces from the end of the bone and swallow them...fortunately small pieces that shouldn't cause any problems. I know that others have been happy with these particular dog chews, and I just wanted to alert other doodle owners, especially doodles with "monster jaws" that they need to monitor their dogs closely when first giving them this bone.
I bought them for my dogs for X-mas and they didn't really go for them too much. I will see Jack pull it out of his toy basket every once in awhile but no big reaction to them at all.
Marlow chews on his every night and Lola's too since she doesn't care for it. He has gotten them a lot smaller but for two months worth, I think they have been amazing. Still lots of chewing left. :)
Here's our antler Cooper got for Christmas...its not an antlerz. Its a bulk elk antler...got it from a pet store in St. Louis. It used to have about 5 prongs. That's a quarter next to it to show its actual size.
I have been wanting to try these for Rosie. Due to her food allergies she can not have rawhide, pigears or any type of beef bones. She has lost interest in her nylabones. We tried some of the edible bones she loves them, but they cause allergy problems for her. Since she has to eat potatoe and venison food her vet said they would probably be OK for her.
My two like them a lot. I would buy them again. Samson chews on his often. Shelby spends her time taking his (even though she has her own) or just carrying it around.
I bought two for Lucy and Sophie and neither of them seem to care about them. My current foster doesn't pay any attention to them either. I thought they were going to be my miracle cure but nope! On to find something else I guess.
