I dont know if it is her puppy coat changing that is causing the mats, or if this is just a problem with Doodles....if so....any reccomendations?

I agree, you must join the Grooming Group! It is the largest group here on DK. Hmmm, I wonder why?
But a word or warning, just joing the group will not work, you actually must do all of what they say there and that is a lot of work and still there are times when you just can't win.

Earlier today as I was reading a post here on DK about a Stray Dog, I looked over at my doodle and realized he also looked like a stray. He sat there and smiled at me all filthy and matted. He was bathed and groomed--it took only four hours, on Wednesday.

Please join us in the Grooming Group. Your dog may never look any better, but at least you won't feel so alone. :)

I should post a REAL picture of what he looks like most of time, not those fake, cute clean dog pictures I rush to take before he gets into something.
The good news is that people are less likely to steal him : )
Yeah, Like Inbreed man! UGH
Join the grooming group! Doodles mat to varying degrees. Some doodles never mat, some mat as their coat matures, some mat forever. There are brushes and combs and grooming products (shampoos and sprays) that really do make a difference in mat prevention or mat removal. The most important thing to remember is that the mats will not take themselves out and you need to be proactive in your grooming.
