Does anyone have an intact male that is friendly towards other dogs? Sherlock and I have been going to rally obedience classes and the majority of the dogs are intact. None of the dogs can greet each other because they all want to attack! There is an intact labradoodle that seems friendly at times, but also gets growly. There is an intact basenji and the owner says the dog is not friendly (it's probably the breed though). There is a 10 month old female doberman that is super aggressive. If the owner didn't have a tight grip, she would go after all of the dogs there. There is an intact australian shepherd that gets growly every time it passes other dogs. While we're waiting for our turn to go on the course, I usually have Sherlock sit on my lap in case the other owners aren't paying attention to their dogs. Sherlock is already freaked out by big dogs, so today I made sure I brought a big kong filled with peanut butter so that he had something to do while we waited.
So my question is, does anyone have an intact male that you can bring to the dog park and that has good doggie manners and isn't dominant?
I grew up with an intact male, and he got along great with female dogs, but not with males. Where I grew up all the males were intact (as far as I new) and they didn't get along with each other. Most of the fights were mild, though, and none of the dogs actually hurt each other- just a lot of growling and rolling around.
