Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We're bringing home our new 5mo Monday :) She is 30 lbs now and is a small standard. I'm getting a couple baby gates to block off parts of the house we aren't able to supervise her in... will regular height ones be big enough or will just just climb/jump over?

We have a medium-sized labradoodle. He is now about 34 lbs and about 20 inches tall. He's 8 months old and almost fully grown. We have a 30-inch tall gate (I think that's considered standard) that he has managed to leap over a few times. You might want to consider taller gates, unless she's a super calm puppy not prone to much jumping when excited.
My guy jumped right over the regular height gates from a standing position when he was less than a year and about 45 lbs. Go for the taller ones!
I don't know much about gates but glad you are going ahead with the adoption! Pictures please! :)
TALL! haha they are jumpers!
I have a 15 pound 13 week old puppy who has not yet jumped over the gates but he is easily jumping up so that he is springing up above the top of the gate. I think they are standard size. Maybe ask the whoever you are getting your puppy from if she is a jumper. I hope that helps with your decision.
Depends on the pup! We have the regular ones and have standards and they have never tried to jump/climb over them. My friend has to have the tall ones because her doodle jumps right over! When in doubt, I would probably buy the tall ones.
Post pictures!
Enzo is a standard Goldendoodle. She can leap straight UP in the air at least 5 feet! It's like she has springs on her legs. I'd go for extra tall!
Not sure what height ours are, but they are taller than our dogs, just barely. Boca managed to break two wooden gates in a row after we'd had them for 3+ years just by trying to plow through them when she got excited about something on the other side.
Bodi is 25 pounds. He can jump very high!!!! Get tall gates!!!
