For those of you nor familiar with what happened to Sundrop, the beagle, a few weeks ago, here is a link to my discussion.
UPDATE ON SUNDROP. I talked tp Sundrop's mom last night. It looks like Sundrop will keep her leg but they don't know yet how the remaining toes will do. She said that it looked as if one of the toe pads was about ready to fall off and will be taking Sundrop to the vet to look at it.
Sundrop is being a good patient with all the changing of dressings, pills etc. The spark has come back into her eyes and her tail wags constantly.

I just talked to my neighbor who had taken Sundrop to our local vet today to have the soft cast removed. My neighbor and the vet were sickened. The vet who put the soft cast on after relocating Sundrop's shoulder put in on way too tight! One toe literally fell off right there on the spot. It doesn't look good. We will know in the next 24 to 48 hours whether or not Sundrop will lose her leg. This was totally unforeseen. There was no indication that anything was wrong.
Please send positive thoughts and prayers for Sundrop. She needs all the help she can get.

I missed your first discussion. I feel so awful for them! I hope Sundrop can keep her leg, but I've heard of lots of dogs who do just fine on 3 legs. Sundrop seems like a fighter, so I'm sure she'll be fighting to keep that leg or fighting to get along without it if that's what she's faced with.
Oh wow, poor baby. That is just horrible! Sending pawsitive thoughts for Sundrop and her people.
Poor thing. Sending positive thoughts.
Thoughts, prayers, and hugs to Sundrop and her mom. ♥ What a horrible thing to happen. And the original vet should be prepared to monetarily compensate for the tragedy.
Leslie is correct, Sundrop is most likely dealing with this better than any of us ever would.
Oh how horrible...praying for this poor dog.
Wow, poor Sundrop just can't catch a break. Certainly hoping and praying that all turns out well!
This is so sad. Keep us posted please.
Oh no! Hope Sundrop doesn't lose her leg :(
Poor Sundrop. Hoping for the best possible outcome for her. I agree with Leslie, tripod dogs usually do just fine, if it does come to that.
Oh Anne, I am so very sorry about this. What a brave dog Sundrop is. I will pray for a good outcome.
Horrible! Sending a prayer for Sundrop. Poor baby......
