Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello,
Has anyone ever heard of or used a company called Bark Busters? I spoke to them today and the idea of it is, they do the training at your own home because that is where the dog lives. they teach everything from house breaking to only giving one bark when someone is at the door and waiting for permission to greet guests. You can purchase them for 1 year or you can purchase for the lifetime of the pet and anytime you have a new behavior that needs to be corrected you call them and they come out. Apparently they are Nationwide and in every state within the US. So when you move they come to your new house to acclimate the dog with its rules to the new home.
I am very interested in this, however it is pretty expensive and I don’t want to pay for a lifetime if i only need a year or pay at all if it is not worth the while.
Has anyone had any experience?
Thank you!
Holly

How does the dog learn how to obey outside of the home if it only is trained in the home?
I really think that it depends on the effectiveness of the individual Bark Buster trainer in your area. I have heard some good things about them. My DD has a friend who is a Bark Buster trainer, and I see all the time on his Facebook page how happy his clients are with how he's helped them. He actually does the pet segments for Martha Stewart radio and print. I would ask for references for the BB trainer who would work with you, and I'd talk to them to see how satisfied they are.
I personally have no experience but what I will repeat from a trainer that I trust with both my girls - don't spend your money. This person has had to retrain dogs that have come through their program.
