Considering getting a bark collar for our little dood who barks at seriously anything, including leaves blowing in the wind. Our other guy does not bark at all, until Phin gets him going. We are constantly having to shut all the blinds in the house so Phin cant see out of them which is sad because i hate how dark it is in here and Yeti loves to look out the window.

Has anyone had any luck with a certain type?

I have good luck with the citronella spray collar.   I put it on a night or when needed without turning it on.  Once in a while Picco will challenge it then I'll have to turn in on for next use I'll spray him then we are good again for quite a while.  I do hear that some dogs get used to the spray but Picco has had it for 7 years.  I feel it is safer than shock collars and happy that it's worked out for us.

We purchased the Pet Safe bark collar a few years ago because when we were camping in our RV  but were not in the rig, our dogs would get in a group bark frenzy at the other campers.  We either needed to curb the barking or we'd be asked to leave. We put one on Ned and one on Clancy.  We sometimes use it at home  too, because we have a dog neighbor that sadly is outside confined to a dog run right at our fence line 24/7 who has nothing to do but bark, so our guys want to fence fight with him.  And door barking can be nuts.  Ned barks, but it's not horrendous, so we haven't put it on him for a couple of years. Clancy needs a tune-up once in a while. It really worked magic as a training tool.  Now to Charlie ..... it does work on him when he wears it.  Because of other behaviors, we have gotten him a training e-collar, we use that instead.

Thank you both! I am so hesitant because Phin (our barker) is otherwise a very skittish pup. If i have to scold him he gets so sad and runs into his kennel. As a puppy he was petrified of everything at puppy class so I dont want to do anything to overly scare him. At the same time we are so over his constant barking so something needs to be done.

We did not put a bark collar on our anxious Springer Spaniel for that very reason.  We just needed to stop the barkfests and if  Clancy and Ned didn't bark, then he wouldn't.  I don't know what you can do.  When we are in the RV with the dogs, we can control the barking, but when we leave them, we had the problem,  Doggy Dan had a video about owning the door and fence which lots of people here successfully did. At our house, I'm not fast enough to own the fence.

I will have to check out doggy dan! Thank you so much Nancy :)
