About the last 3 nights Huff has been barking and whining while he is supposed to be sleeping. He always stops after a while. Last night he pooped and peed before he got in the house I offered him water and food. He hasn't done this since he was a puppy. I just wonder why he is doing this.
We did this for our kids and now my son insists on doing it for his. My DIL thought he was nuts. They are 4 and 2 now and yup... every nap and night time the fan still goes on. haha. Try it, you'll like it.
There is practicly no wild life around here. Only ducks, geese, and sometimes wolves or stray cats. All of which never come around the house. His guard bark is deep this bark is shrill and obnoxious.

Hi, I had this problem and had my house rat/racoon proofed and for the most part have no more nightime barking. I also hate being awakened. I bought a citronella bark collar that I never used, may be you could see if this helps. I sleep upstairs from where my dog sleeps so by the time I got downstairs I couldn't see the source for the barking. If you don't have any critters, could there be a noise in the environment that just started...neighbors, construction, etc? I didn't want to use the bark collar, but would have since I don't want my dog to bark at night...including the "watch dog barking". Personally, I don't like any type of barking. Good luck.
