I just finished watching the Governor of CT (who has already declared a State of Emergency) talk about Sandy as the worst storm to hit CT EVER.  They are talking now about waves up to 11 ft as they hit shore, torrential rains and 70 mile per hour winds.  New Jersey and coastal NY are equally bad.  I'm praying that everyone stays safe over these next couple of days.  The best news is that some towns were not going to allow pets into the shelters and there was such a huge backlash that they have now lifted those restrictions.  I also just read that NYC is allowing pets on public transportation for the evacuation.   I'm hoping that people will check in tomorrow and Tuesday if you can to let us all know that you are okay.  They are saying that in our State power is likely to be out for several days.  The bizarre thing is that it was one year ago to the day that we went through the same thing with that blizzard that took power down for eight days.

Thinking about you and your family Jane.   We'll be fine, have made our preparations and have a generator.   I'm concerned for my daughter and her new son....trying to convince them to come here....I have enough food for a small army.   Hopefully she and her husband will make the decision to stay with us.    The sun is actually trying to peak out as I type this!    Let's all stay in touch.

Steady rain and steady breeze here in MA, but not too windy...yet.  Looks like this afternoon and tonight will be our worst.  Schools are closed statewide and everyone was urged to stay home.

It looks like it will miss us, down in my area.  We'll get some wind Tuesday, but it looks like that will be about it.  But I can't believe some of the stronger winds will reach as far as Chicago.  That's just crazy.  It tells you how bad it must be out east, if even the midwest will feel it a little bit.  Be safe DK friends!

Please everyone stay safe. Most times the worst is after the storm and it can be very trying. It does not seem fair that this is the 3rd in a row parts CT has suffered storms with bad results. No electricity is the very worst no matter where you are. Prayers going out for all in the path of Sandy.
