I just finished watching the Governor of CT (who has already declared a State of Emergency) talk about Sandy as the worst storm to hit CT EVER. They are talking now about waves up to 11 ft as they hit shore, torrential rains and 70 mile per hour winds. New Jersey and coastal NY are equally bad. I'm praying that everyone stays safe over these next couple of days. The best news is that some towns were not going to allow pets into the shelters and there was such a huge backlash that they have now lifted those restrictions. I also just read that NYC is allowing pets on public transportation for the evacuation. I'm hoping that people will check in tomorrow and Tuesday if you can to let us all know that you are okay. They are saying that in our State power is likely to be out for several days. The bizarre thing is that it was one year ago to the day that we went through the same thing with that blizzard that took power down for eight days.
Stay safe friends and Doodles....

Jane I was thinking about you this morning and all your adventures last year with the doodles and the storm and shelter! I can't believe this is happening to you guys again!
We are following the storm from Oregon and so concerned about all of our DK friends in its path. We are praying that each of you and your families stay safe from its affects over the next few days.
I too ask that you please check in with us as the days pass, if you are able, to let us know that you are okay.
Be SAFE!!!
Thinking of you guys and will pray for safety for all.
Lots of rain and high winds predicted for our (Great Lakes) area as the storm moves inland. We will see what happens.
Amen Jane...Here in NE FL were were lucky ...again!!! Only had beach erosion on a newly refurbrished (sp?) part of St Augustine Beach.
National news was reporting snow already in the mountains of North Carolina....
Praying for everyone on the east coast......
Stay safe, Jane!! We are bracing here for the storm and it is supposed to hit our area Monday or Tuesday. Saying a prayer for all those on the East Coast tonight.
I'm thinking this Sandy crap is gonna blow out before it gets here. I'm wore out planning and thinking of everything that needed done. Actually worse than a winter storm, in the winter, I've already brought in all my stuff and prepped for a lot of things. Because we live nearly on top of the mountain, tomorrow night we plan to sleep in the lower level, just in case a big ass tree lets loose. In the winter, I can take my food outside to stay cold instead of it melting down in the freezer/refrig. Asking Santa for a generator this year! (just in case :) Hate this stuff!
You can hope! But it is better to be safe (overplanned) than to be sorry later. Hope it all does just blow over. My cousin is in Cape May with a new boat. We are keeping in contact and he says so far, good.
I'd like to add my prayers for the safety of all our friends who are in the path of this storm. This storm seems to be ready to batter such a large area and may even reach us eventually but by that time won't be packing much of a punch. I heard on the news how they were shutting down the NY subway so they are really preparing for the worst. Please everyone stay safe and check in when you can.
Stay safe Jane, We are in same boat. Good luck! Thinking of you guys.
Oh, Jane, stay safe! Stay safe, everyone! JD and I will be thinking of all of our friends who are in Sandy's path and hoping you're all fine. Please do check in with us.
I feel like we've been going ghrough this storm for days already, yet I was just out and there is no wind and no rain, just anticipation. I hope we all make through safe and sound too.
Thanks for all of you wishing us better times. I'm currently watching our governor (who is my boss) saying stay home for the next 2 days...........really>? gonna pay us? grrrr
Thank you jane same to you!
