Best lining material for dog bed...

I understand that some lining material used for dog beds makes dogs hot. Your thoughts
about what material works for your doodle?

I don't think it matters a whole lot, really.  If they find the cushioning comfy, they will use it.  My main criteria is that it is washable and not too porous (or at least has a liner underneath that protects the cushion).

I agree with Adina, but bottom line, some dogs sleep on their beds and some find other places more comfy - like on your bed or a tile floor, or a stair step, or . . .  or  . . .! :-}

That is so true. Annabelle doesn't sleep at night in her bed, but during the day she takes naps on it. Lately now, more times than not, I will find her in the kitchen laying on the wood floor. I think for summer it may be cooler for her. It will be interesting to see if she is still doing it in December.

Rosco preferred the cold hard floor for years.  Now that he's older, he does like dog beds a lot more.

I wouldn't spend a lot of money on beds for puppies. In the beginning, they're likely going to sleep in a crate, and you want something washable and cheap for inside the crate. Once they're sleeping or resting out of the crate, I'd pick up a couple of inexpensive, washable dog beds at the pet supply store until you see what their preferences are. You can also even just use an old comforter folded over once or twice. Some dogs never sleep on dog beds, they prefer floors, rugs, and furniture. Even those who do use dog beds move around a lot. During the night, Jack may move from my bed to his bed to the floor and back again.

P.S. When I asked about dog bed material lining, I should have mentioned that I understand that some material tends to
heat up the Doodle whereas other material is more comfortable. Not sure which is which.
