NINE inspectors in nation? hahaha!! Its a joke!!

I thought they went to every single one of the breeders and inspected them to be AKC approved!!

Oh, boy... I guess the money makes the world go around..... AKC approved only means that they paid their dues!!

Yup, it is just a club.

How shameful.

I am surprised by this.  I guess the AKC are not the dog lovers they profess to be.

Interesting.....I was contacted by someone telling me that I should only get a puppy from an AKC breeder.  A goldendoodle from an AKC breeder - that was amusing by itself - couple that with the apparently worthless title of "AKC Breeder" and it makes me question this "professional's" advice.

It is a club that "steals" money.....lots and lots of money.    I laughed out loud when she told the reporter there were NINE inspectors......how could she say that with a straight face???!!!!!      Disgusting.

Disgusting and corrupt. I knew their papers were worthless -- guess their inspections are too. In the end, nobody's going to protect these poor dogs as long as someone is willing to buy that cute puppy without doing their homework OR wants a cheaper price.  I'm so sick of hearing -"oh the people were so nice, they had beautiful puppies on the internet, and they must be good because they breed 10 different types of dogs."

People really need to SEE where their dog is coming from, either with their own eyes or the eyes of someone they trust.  Thanks for posting Adrianne.

This is just sickening! Poor dogs/puppies :-(

"9 inspectors" for the ENTIRE United States??? WOW
Why would I buy my dog from a breeder that is registered with an organization that turns a blind eye to mothers and sons, and brothers and sisters etc. being bred together because they meet the breed standard. Or an organization that encourages the breeding of dogs with spinal and cranial deformities because they have the right 'look'. Ask sheep farmers in England what the breed standard is doing to the border collie, it is ruining the breed to the point where they are no longer physically able to do their original job!! What is the point of a breed standard that destroys the ability of the dog to do its job? I have a friend who is a purebred breeder, and she is wonderful. But I believe these people are few and far between. I'll take my "mixed breed " any day!!
This report has no critical thinking to it all. It is sensational irresponsible reporting. Did that dane owner actually go to the breeder and physically inspect it herself? Or did she get her dane shipped to her? Did she ask and get health testing results from the breeder? What pedigree did that dog have? Did that owner follow through with her responsibility to care for the dog? There is a possibility she wasn't properly caring for it at home. The report goes into very little detail of how and why the dog was sick. If she did not actually do those things she is at as much fault for buying from a shady breeder. She is perpetuating the problem. These conditions exist because there are greedy people out there and uneducated people who continue to support. There are very reputable, skilled breeders producing exceptional animals out there. You really have to look for them and make an effort and only buy from them or rescue. One of the problems is people do not research enough. Plus they want a puppy and they want it now. Very high quality breeders screen people before they buy. Some people do not want to go through that so they find the easiest way and usually get a puppy from one of these breeders. The whole history of the doodle has spawned an exploitive environment where breeders are crossing everything with a poodle. The man who intitiallly bred them says he now regrets it. Look it up. I guarantee there are probably people in this group who got their puppy shipped to them or from a broker. That is worst thong you can do if buy dog that way. You are just as guilty as these unscrupulous breeders. The AKC does have reputable breeders, it is up to the individual to find them. Go to shows and talk to them, go to their kennels. Doodles may not be need to be AKC. But there are shady things going on in the doodle world too. I have seen an instructional video put out by a doodle breeder that is outright dangerous. If this is so upsetting, then you should do something about and be a good steward of the breed.
Also I just realized, the AKC has nine more inspectors than all the breeders who are out there breeding mixes not even associated with any organization that strives for standards.
