I was wondering when does a breeder normally inform you that the puppies are born.  My pups were already born when we got them.  This time we are anxiously awaiting the birth of my daughter's pup.  So I am just wondering if breeders generally wait a few days before notifying  the potential pet parents if you are on a waitlist?

Our breeder told us about 3 days after the puppies were born.  They probably wait a bit to make sure the pups appear healthy before announcing.

Thanks.  The due date is February 11th.  We will just wait patiently to hear! We are getting so excited.

The wait is so hard! We were third on the list for a female so we were anxious about there not being enough female pups.  We got lucky in that there were 4 of each and we got our first choice puppy :)

I didn't even think about that. I don't know how far we are on the list but she just put on her website that there are available slots for this litter.   My daughter did her application and deposit in October. My daughter wants a girl as well. She is pretty flexible about her coloring but she wants a girl.

We mostly wanted a girl for the size but we would have taken a boy as well.  Male Bernese can be up to 120 lbs and I did not really want a 100 lb. Doodle monster, looks like Riley will top out around 70 lbs which is easier for me to handle lol.  DH keeps joking he wishes she were bigger but I think he is realizing she is plenty big enough lol.

Both of my late doodles were born on Feb 11, different years, different litters :-)

Like Ned and Clancy share their birthday. Theirs is March17, 2008- even same year for them.

I think they are probably all different. Jasper's breeder called me as soon as the puppies were born, that very day, but she's not a doodle breeder and is very low volume.
