Let me explain. OFL--our fearless leader --Adina is always exhorting us to excel by expounding upon the need for exacting scientific method. So following in her excellent tradition I embarked upon an experiment today. After 2 weeks of extreme weather, I excitedly exited for an excrement collection. In the interest of complete disclosure let me say that a few leaves, twigs, and plastic bags were part of the bagful of you know what (expletive deleted). But the collection also excluded areas that are still under snow. I examined the "collection" and found it weighed 12.5 pounds!!! I was surprised since it felt like 30-40 pounds to me. Still, it seems excessive to me. Now I am exhausted. I'm sure you'll agree that my doodles are exemplars of excrement expellers. I exonerate them of all blame since they can't help it. Clark and Adina need to find a solution for those of us who can't exploit the Doogie Doo Drain.
Hahahaha! I applaud your curious mind :)
12.5 lbs is what Natalie weighed on Monday, by the way....
Glad I don't have a scale at home or you'd be in for some fierce competition!
Okay- 3/8 of a pound. Now we usually have 2 bags per day, sometimes more. But at 2 bags per day, that's 5.25 lbs per week, or 273 lbs of s*** per year. Probably more.
Wow, and I only have one large dog!
I CAN NOT believe this post.... I am LAUGHING with tears in my eyes! I JUST did the same yesterday, "F"! It was like I was on a scavenger hunt. I was getting almost obsessed with looking for more! I even started to dig under areas that were still covered in snow! My left arm was actually aching from the weight of the bag, so I hung it on a shovel handle leaning against my house... in case more snow snuck it's way in. That was just from one doodle. Wish I had weighed it, as now I am very curious! Usually that's my sons' job, and my DH actually asked me why I was out there doing it when it was their job, but I was convinced that they could not find all that I was so obsessed in finding! I was almost 'enjoying' it! LOL BOY do we so need Spring to come.....
I do know what you mean. After I decided I'd weigh it I had to be very thorough! The good news--I have snowdrops blooming and the crocus foliage is up.
I am laughing right along with you Shelly! This was exactly what Kyle (our 11 year old) and I did this morning!! It was the first day we've been able to get out back without coming back knee deep in mud! It's been such a wet/freezing winter down here!
We went out on a mission too! Kyle was hysterical! Every poop he'd find he's declare who's it was...."Mom, that's Gaston's---see the paper towels?:">........."Mom that's Gaston again! See my sock!!!"......."Oh Mom, that's Bindi's---I KNOW because it's so tiny"! I never knew in a million years I have so much fun scoopin' poop with my boy! LOL He said it was like excavation on a dinosaur find! LOL
It never occurred us to weigh our stash but with (3) dogs I guarantee you our "haul" weighed more than Natalie! LOL
