Hi everyone! I posted on here a couple of days ago about invisible fences and wireless containments, we started back on boundary training yesterday and it went great!!!!! Just a few times around the boundaries and the stern no! When he crossed the line and he got the idea quick, he's so smart!!! (Sorry I had to brag a little) then today I jumped a little ahead of myself and told him to sit and stay inside the boundary while I walked out to check the mail, and he didn't cross the line at all! WOO HOO! The only problem I'm having is he doesn't like using the bathroom in our yard, he likes the neighbors yard and the grass next to the road, that was not working for us which is partly why we started this training along with many other reasons, so he's being very stubborn about using the bathroom in our yard.. And we had the first accident in the house in over a month yesterday! So I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions at all about this,I'm not too worried about it, I just was wondering if maybe there was something I could do. we're taking him out more frequently and crating at night again.

many years ago with my first dog I had as an adult...mixed breed lab.  we had an acre yard.  We walked him around and around and showed him his space.  He NEVER left the yard.  Kids and four wheelers and bikes and so forth, he never left the yard.  My dumb mix breed knew his place. He always fasincated the neighbors how he would stay in the yard and watch,.  He did however have a path around the yard.  :)  He was our Sentry Dog.

I am glad the training is going so well.  I would put some poo in a place in the back yard where you want him to go.

just what I was going to say.    pick it up from the neighbors yard and move it to where you want him to go in yours.

I hope the POO idea works....glad he is doing so well with his boundary training.

Boundary training....sounds like a great idea!  Thank you, Emily.  I'll be looking into this technique for the front yard.  Congratulations on your successes.  Have a good day :-)
