My lil 13week guy Brinkley has started chewing on the landscaping bricks, they are 100yro bricks so.... something maybe in them.

Does anyone know why he would be so attracted to to chew on them & should I stop him ASAP?

I have to say my guys BMs really.....................stink, my lab's doesn't smell on this food so I wondered if the poodle in him has something to do with stinky BM or not.

At first I had to laugh! Then I didn't because he is eating them :-(  Personally I don't know what bricks are made of, especially being that old.  However, Hunter found a 1/2 a brick somewhere under our deck, yard, I am not sure where and she LOVES it.  She will just carry it around and try to toss it and jump around it.  Kinda hard to toss a brick but she tries!  Her very favorite odd thing is the cast iron drain cover that she does the same thing with.  As soon as we put it back in the garage floor she goes right back and takes it out some how!  How much of the brick has she actually eaten?  I wonder if its just more of a "chewing" thing and not so much for the love of the brick..........
He has only got the corner off, it's a 1/2 brick he is chewing on.

I did just find this article about how they are made........

Thank you, you know if I remember right clay is often a basic craving for some.

In humans its called pica.

WTD???
Glad I read the current posts before I added my comment, as I was going to say the same thing.  I wonder if there are doggie versions of all the entries in the DSM??  Probably not :)
Its particularly common in the southeast US among certain cultures.  It is a particular kind of clay (kaolin) and pregnancy increases the cravings. Most clays are rich in calcium and magnesium.

geophagia is the term for just clay. Sorry.

I guess I would worry about his teeth if it were me.....  My Kona used to like to bring in rocks from our landscaping and chew on them.  I would always take them away worrying about teeth and swallowing.  She eventually stopped wanting them.
These bricks are rather soft But I wondered about his teeth too...

I would not let my pups do this, I think it could be potentially very bad for their teeth, and dental work for dogs is extremely expensive.

As for your plus, it probably has something to do with what you are feeding him
