I've never encountered a "goose egg" and I had two liter mates that played like crazy, It is really hard to know, but to me bumps are something that needs to be checked out by a Vet. Bumps can be cysts or tumors or any other number of things. With any of these, in my opinion a trip to the Vet is warranted.
I agree.
Did you ever find out what the Lump was? I am trying to compile information on vaccination reactions such as lumps, etc. and also any long term growth of lumps maybe from taking Comfortis for fleas as my dog had egg size lump on his left thigh. In 4 years, after I had a needle biopsy done which was negative, the lump grew to a hard orange size then in less then 2 months to hard melon size lump. Three months after that had surgery done to remove it and my dog died on the operating table at 8 years of age of hemangiosarcoma. a very sad and sudden death to my beautiful, loving and very talented dog which all started with a small lump on his thigh. Since this form of cancer begins in the dogs blood cells, I wonder if something triggers its growth in certain breeds, like vaccines or internal and/or externally given flea meds. I hope your dog just had a fatty cyst. Sorry to bother you but I have to ask in that maybe this could be prevented with more research. Thank you.
