No problem. I think this whole discussion should have been in the Food Group, lol.

Mine too.  But I do not give carrots to them for nutrition.  They think of them like bullysticks or leather chews, and they are a lot quicker.  Bullysticks are three chews and carrots are only one.

Annabelle had an issue back in April where she couldn't pass an undigested carrot, she must have swallowed it whole. She all but quit eating, wasn't pooping much and seemed quite miserable. It required a trip to the vet for help.

We had a mini poodle years ago.  She was very treat motivated.  Being young and stupid we gave her entirely too many treats not realizing at her small weight, she really didn't need many calories to survive.  As she aged, she started to gain weight.  Finally the Vet said she really needed to loose weight.  This is when she did a calorie calculation based on the weight she should be and showed us that just give her a couple treats a day put her over her calorie requirement she needed.  She told us to start giving her baby carrots as treats instead of puppy treats.  She loved them and they just went straight through her.  She thought she was getting treats so she was happy.  We would buy the big 2lb bags and she would go through one in like a week.  Added bonus, her poop was easy to find in the yard since it contained orange.

This sounds like the best reason to give raw carrots. :)

Don't want it for nutrition, but for chewing/biting puppy issue.

I think there are better choices for chew objects, things that would last longer and give the teeth more of a workout, too.
