We just changed our dogs to Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe.  One of our dogs is making SERIOUS stinkies all week since the change, which was less than gradual.  Of course my thought is that it is the food, even though Fenway is always eating things she shouldn't be eating as well.  I don't want to go back to the old food, which I think was substandard.  How long do you think we should wait to see if she might adjust to this food?  I also don't want to make a switch to a third food unless we have to, but I am open to that.  Our other dog, Shiloh,  is just loving her new yummies.  What do you think?  Gas masks are not an option!

Give it a month. It can sometimes take 3-4 weeks for them to adjust, especially if the new food is very different from the old food in terms of macronutrient percentages or ingredients.

You might pick up a bottle of Gentle Digest capsules, made by Ark Naturals. Usually available in the smaller "boutique" type pet supply stores or you can order on-line. That should help with the gas.

Thanks Karen.  I think this food is very different - much for the better.
